CranioSacral Therapy
CranioSacral therapy is a gentle hands-on technique that balances the fluid and frees the tissues that surround the central nervous system. The brain and spinal cord are surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid. The fluid has a rhythm that can become impacted by changes in the bones of the head (cranium) or at the base of the spine (sacrum). A free flowing CranioSacral system is directly related to your overall well being. Restrictions can cause an overload on your sympathetic nervous system and dysfunction in the body. With the restrictions released and natural motion restored, you will have a sense of clarity, deep relaxation, and well being after a session.
Problems occur within the autonomic nervous system when the stress is chronic, not acute. Chronic stress is when an immense amount of stress over an extended period of time gets the body stuck into sympathetic nervous system overdrive. The body has become accustomed to such an ongoing cycle of intense stress that it does not shift back unconsciously to the parasympathetic nervous system.

What can I expect from a CranioSacral session?
Upon arrival, you will fill out a health history form. Your therapist will review your past and present medical history with you, with your specific needs noted. During the session, you will remain fully clothed. Your therapist will assess and balance your CranioSacral rhythm with light touch. A session will last about 45 minutes. Comfortable loose fitting clothes should be worn.
During the treatment, you may experience extreme relaxation, (you may even fall asleep), temperature changes and immediate pain relief. In some cases, images, emotions and memories may arise. However, in a safe atmosphere, they are easily processed and released. On occasion, you may feel lightheaded upon sitting after a session. Drink plenty of water post session to flush out any toxins that were released from your session.

Post Trauma (after an accident)
A person suffering with chronic stress is in a constant state of fight-or-flight mode, where some or all of their autonomic functions are shut down, eventually leading to or triggering the many painful and debilitating aforementioned issues with the body.
All of these symptoms — that are the actual functions of the Sympathetic Nervous System — can eventually be prevented if one can shift out of Sympathetic overdrive into Parasympathetic and eventually reset Autonomic Balance (or homeostasis) and experience normal functions again.
CranioSacral therapy is increasingly used as a preventative health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease. It is also effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with physical and emotional pain, including:
